It is snowing again and the City of Vienna has turned into a white wonderland. It looks lovely but due to central heating, the wind and cold weather, my skin dries out so quickly and feels tight and irritated.
While I was browsing the web for dry skin remedies, I came across a blog called Beauty mouth with really good tips and tricks.
Here you see a list of all things I am doing to reduce the dryness of my skin during the winter months:
- reducing the heat
- avoiding products containing a lot of alcohol
- using cleansing milk instead of a foaming face wash
- exfoliating regularly to get rid of the dead skin to allow my skin to breathe
- applying moisturising face masks (homemade)
- taking Vitamin D and Omega 3 supplements
- using a moisturiser containing SPF and UVA protection (as the sun can also cause dry skin in Winter)
- and of course drinking at least 1.5 litres of water everyday.
What do you do to prevent dry skin? Please let me know if there is anything else I could add to my Winter-skin care-list.
Take care of your skin and enjoy the winter,
Mahshid
